In this case ,heat is transferred from one place to another place,through a solid,ay direct contact between molecules.metal objects are very good conductor of heat whereas wooden pieces are bad conductor of heat .if one end of the iron is heated,the other end also gets hot,but it is well known that even if the one end of a wooden stick is burning the other end does not gets heat.land surface are generally poor conductor of heat through different types of soil have different conductivity e.g sand is better conductor than sand.
