WHY POLAR REGION ARE COLDER THAN EQUITORIAL REGION

Since earth is so far from the sun,the sun's ray may be assumed to be parallel to each other when they arrive. The half of the earth towards the sun gets sunlight,during daytime. It will be noticed that each pole receives sunlight only during its summer. This is the reasons why poles are colder.
